Award collection of Mika Myllylä

Skiing legend Mika Myllylä’s prize collection

An exhibition featuring the prize collection of skier Mika Myllylä (1969 – 2011) is on display in the Haapajärvi City Hall’s council chamber. The exhibition is open on weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm. At other times, it is open by appointment at tel. 044 4456 201.

The exhibition showcases all significant medals won by Myllylä in major competitions, along with race suits, skiing equipment, and other materials used in championships. As an additional highlight, visitors can explore the champion skier’s first skis and trophy from his childhood.

In total, Myllylä won medals in major competitions throughout his career as follows:

●      1 Olympic gold

●      1 Olympic silver

●      4 Olympic bronze

●      4 World Championship gold

●      3 World Championship silver

●      2 World Championship bronze

In addition, Myllylä won 23 Finnish championships during his skiing years.
