Sauvi – Somero

The trail connecting Sauvin and Somero has become a popular recreational spot after renovations in 2009 (unlit). In Sauvi’s terrain, there are separate trails of 6.4 km, 8.3 km, and 15.3 km. Additionally, there are two lean-to shelters in the area.

The city’s public sledding hill is located at Samuli’s beach, at address Puistokatu 91.

Ski trail conditions

Maintenance is handled by Latupojat Oy.

●      The maintenance order of the ski trails: Sauvi-Somero, Ronkaala, Haaga, and Pitkäkangas.

●      The light switches for illuminated trails can be found on electric poles, and the light switch for Someron ski center is on the wall of the lodge.

●      The lights turn on from the switch but automatically turn off around 10:00 PM.

●      Maintained trails are intended for skiers only.

●      Walking, dog walking, horseback riding, and driving motor vehicles on the trails are prohibited.

●      Driving a snowmobile off-road is prohibited without the landowner’s permission.

●      Crossing the trail with a motor vehicle can pose a safety risk.

●      Please report any deficiencies or hazards observed on the trails to the trail maintainers.

Somero ski center

The Somero ski center features an illuminated fitness trail and the cozy Somero’s lodge. The lodge is owned by the sports club Haapajärven Kiilat. Somero’s Lodge can be rented for various events, meetings, and celebrations. The lodge includes a hall for approximately 100 people, a kitchen with a fireplace, and two saunas.

The lodge is open by appointment. Various rental options are available for the lodge’s spaces.
