Finland100 – Haapajärvi40 -graffiti

The students of Jokilatva Institute’s basic art education implemented graffiti on the theme of Suomi100 and Haapajärvi40 in the underpass of Kuusaantie in September 2017.

The leader of the graffiti workshop, graphic artist Marko Anttila, designed the letters within which the students painted their own perspectives of Haapajärvi and Finland. The teachers Maarit Räisänen and Tarja Pärn guided the students in their design work. The graffiti is part of the Suomi100 centennial celebration program and the city’s 40th-anniversary celebration.

The street art piece is freely accessible in the underpass of Kuusaantie, at the end of Kirkkokatu. The route under Valtakatu is designated for pedestrian and bicycle use.
